Mogami's Group Calligraphy Mindfulness Event

"Saori was an absolute joy to work with in planning our Learning at Work Week mindfulness calligraphy session. The session was amazing and Saori has a very special calming nature which made the activity all the more enjoyable. The content covered was nothing short of inspiring and all our employees loved learning a new art form that most had never tried before. If you're up for a session that really opens up your mind and calms your soul, this is the one!"

Saori Okada_Mogami Founder

A New Yorker's mind with a Japanese soul on a mission to empower your holistic wellbeing.

Saori Okada is the Founder of Mogami, a Japanese wellness brand grounded in the belief that true wellbeing is cultivated through presence, intention, and everyday practice.

Born and raised in Tokyo and later shaped by life and work in New York, Toronto, and London, Saori brings together a global perspective with deeply rooted Japanese wisdom. Her work bridges traditional Japanese philosophies with modern, evidence-informed approaches to holistic wellbeing, offering a grounded alternative to fast-paced, outcome-driven models of health.

After navigating her own long and complex relationship with health, Saori shared her experience in her memoir,
Until the Death of Me: A 15-Year Eating Disorder Recovery Journey (2021). Writing the book reshaped her understanding of wellbeing — not as something to fix or optimise, but as something to tend to with compassion, patience, and care.

In 2025, she published her second book,
The Wisdom of Ancient Japan: Timeless Lessons to Live By, a reflective collection of sixty Japanese concepts, sayings, and cultural teachings. Accompanied by carefully selected traditional ukiyo-e woodblock prints, the book invites readers to slow down, reconnect, and find meaning in the ordinary moments of daily life.

Saori is a UKIHCA-registered Health Coach, combining recognised professional coaching standards with culturally grounded approaches to sustainable wellbeing. She holds a B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Before founding Mogami, Saori spent over seven years in the marketing and media analytics industry, working across New York City, Toronto, and London, and served as a Director of Customer Success. Today, she brings together her corporate experience, coaching practice, and cultural heritage to create spaces for reflection, authenticity, and reconnection — guided by Japanese principles that honour imperfection, seasonality, and the quiet wisdom already within us.
